How We Hire for Our Six-Month Rotational Onboarding Program

We don’t hire employees for a specific position in our company. We hire them based on whether they’re a good fit with our company culture and then begin a six-month fully-paid rotational plan to find a position that is best suited for their skill set and that matches their career goals.

The following summarizes our program. Construction Technologists and our interns will spend time in each of the following areas of our company:

  • FSG – Field Support Group – All Activities inside & outside office to support Hardware Solutions
  • FTG – Field Technology Group – Hardware Sales (RTS, GPS, 3D Scanners, Mixed Reality)
  • Software – Sales (Process Project Management Solutions, Estimating Solutions)
  • Services – Project Management Services, 3D Modeling Services, Coordination, Scanning
  • Marketing, Business Development and Customer Success

The intent for this onboarding program is to mix in technical support, our process, customer success, marketing and sales & BP culture training

Brandon Knapp

Renewal Specialist, Augustana University

Brandon joined BuildingPoint Midwest & Gulf Coast in 2022 during our June onboarding class. After six months of learning about each division within our company, Brandon graduated to the role of Renewal Specialist and today is working with hundreds of our customers annually, helping them to renew their software, warranties, and support plans. 

 

Derek Polkowski

Wisconsin Account Executive, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh 

Derek was a member of our very first onboarding class in 2019. Upon completing our program, Derek began his time with us working as a support engineer. Having a more entrepreneurial mindset, Derek soon after took on the role of an account manager in our Wisconsin territory. Today, Just a few years later, Derek is one of our top-selling account executives and works with some of the country’s largest general contracting firms.

Tim Wallace

Construction Robotics Support Engineer, Lewis University

Tim Wallace joined the BuildingPoint onboarding program in the summer of 2021 and after completion began working as a support engineer. Today, Tim trains some of the country’s top contracting firms on how to operate Trimble construction technology solutions in the field. Tim has traveled all over the United States with BuildingPoint and today is a valuable member of our support team. 

 

John Bellisario

Software Account Executive, University of Iowa 

John Bellisario joined the BuildingPoint onboarding program in the summer of 2020 and joined the company as a Software Account Manager, handling construction software application sales. Today, John works with some of the country’s top General Contractors as an Account Executive selling and implementing ViewPoint Spectrum and Vista, along with Trimble ProjectSight. John holds several Viewpoint certifications and is a complete software resource for our customers.
