FieldLink v6.9 Release Notes

FeildLink v6.9 (2023-11 v6.9.1) has been released and ready to install via Trimble Installation Manager (TIM). The newest version includes a patch to resolve issues that users had when they were running FieldLink Core as part of their GNSS workflow.

Trimble FieldLink User Guides

Have you ever wondered where you can access the user guide for Trimble FieldLink?

You can download the latest FieldLink user guide via Trimble Installation Manger (TIM).

You will need to run TIM on your computer or tablet and then you will see the User Guide as an optional download. Just select the check box next to the guide and it will save the PDF to your local drive. The User Guide is updated as new versions of FieldLink come out so always refer to it plus the latest Release Notes for the changes in new releases.

FieldLink v6.6 Release Notes

FeildLink v6.6 (2023-02 v6.6.0) has been released and ready to install via Trimble Installation Manager (TIM). Please see the support article about installing updates via TIM if you need help updating FieldLink.

Here are some of the Key Features released as part of this new FieldLink Version

  • Automatic creation of a Scan and Layout Job as part of a New Project
  • Nudge button for use with Trimble Vision capable hardware
  • For GNSS users, you will have the ability to select a coordination system and zone in FieldLink
  • For users that have the FieldLink Scan Module you will be able to create detailed area scans for selected areas after an initial low level scan. This allows for a higher level of data collection in certain areas only.
  • For Ri users, you will now be able to set up the unit using April Tags. For questions about this new workflow, please reach out to our support team.
  • For Ri users, you can now setup over a known location using an optical plummet tribrach.

Installing FieldLink Office – Subscription License

Step 1: Trimble ID (TID)

In order to install your FieldLink Office Subscription License you will need to have an active Trimble ID (TID). If you do not have an active TID please go to the following link to create one. https://id.trimble.com/ui/sign_up.html

You will also need to make sure that your TID has been assigned a subscription license via the Trimble License Manager website. For more information on assigning a license to a User / TID please see the article about assigning a subscription license.

Step 2: Download and Install Trimble Installation Manager (TIM)

Use the link Below to download the Trimble Installation Manager (TIM)
https://www.trimble.com/installationmanager
Select “TIM for Windows – Online” and run the installer.

Step 3: Installing FieldLink Office via TIM

Once you have installed and launched TIM, please follow the instructions to install the FieldLink Office software onto your PC.

  1. Select the ‘Show all’ option.
  2. Select the ‘FieldLink’ button.
  3. Using the drop down carrot select the desired version of Trimble Field Points. The latest version of the software will always be listed first.
  4. Toggling the check boxes, choose if you want some or all of the options.
  5. Once you have selected the options you want to install you can then click the ‘Install’ button.
  6. FieldLink Office will be installed on your computer and you will be asked to log in using your TID once you launch the application.

FieldLink saving to Trimble Connect issue

Some FieldLink users are reporting that they are getting an error message stating that their storage is full when saving data from FieldLink to their project on Trimble Connect. Normally the error message will look like the screenshot below.

To resolve this issue you will need to make sure that you are running the latest version of FieldLink. The current version at the time of this article is version 6.2. Updating to this version should resolve this issue.
